Analysis of Just Like You

I'm an addict
and an alcoholic too
I know where you've been
cause I'm just like you

I've wallowed in pity
the muck and the mire
I've had broken dreams
I've had that flat tire

I've been down that road
I choose not to today
I've found something better
I've found a new way

I don't have to drink
or swallow a pill
I don't need a fix
I've had my fill

I've found something
I could never replace
with a bottle, a joint
a pill or a face

God was my answer
God found me God came
and I'm here to tell you
I don't feel the same

I'm an addict
and an alcoholic too
I know where you've been
cause I'm just like you
