Analysis of A Heavy Price

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

The sound of silence! Who can hear?
The footsteps of the Lord draw near
The trees will tremble; the earth will quake
But not one more step will I take

Until my Adam I have found
The seed of mankind from the ground
A simple little building block
Another Lamb will join the flock

And of His glory there is no end
I loved Him back; He called me friend
Now in the garden we will walk
And all day long we’ll only talk

About the price you had to pay
So, you could wash my sin away
