Analysis of MY HEART

Gary Ghelli 1980 (Baton Rouge)

My heart is a gift
A gift of love to you
Why I do not know

For when I see you
I see the birds fly free
And trees dancing in the breeze
For this I know

My heart is a gift
A gift of love to you
Why I do know

For you are an angel
And that's all there
to know.

About this poem

This Poem was my very first one that I ever written. I wrote this my senior year of high school in 1999. My English teacher wanted us to write an essay on love. I asked if it had to be an essay, she told me no. Within 20 mins I had this poem written and she gave me an A+. my mother and grandmother told me I get the poetry from my great grandfather. In the past 20-21 years I have written about 200 poems in total.
