Analysis of LORD, MAY I NOT FORGET THEY LOVE
Ruby Yvette Jenkins 1898 (United States) – 1992 (United States)
Lord, may I not forget thy love,
Nor doubt Thy tender care;
When the dark shades of night grow deep,
And sorrow's hard to bear.
Though grief and pain may fill my heart,
And hope lied buried low;
May I remember then, O Lord,
That Thou didst sorrow know.
May I remember, Thou, O Lord,
A strength and shield will be
To those who trust Thine arms of love,
And serve unfalteringly.
The birds that fly uncharted paths
Are dear, O Lord, to Thee;
Nor wilt Thou ever cease to love
Thy children who call on Thee.
