Analysis of Meet me on the Mountain
Jennifer McKnight 1987 (United States)
Meet me on the Mountain
at the moment our souls first met
Our spot in time
woven in vine
even the sunshine wept
Search through time to find us
in my future memory
Speak through the wind
for the first time again
so I can hear you through the trees
Brush my skin with words
that breathe and shake and shiver
Pull me back to that spot
where our ending is not
and petals shall never wither.
The past and the future
have no place in the now
Embrace me beneath the sky
And when the Mountain asks you why
Only our souls will know how.
