Analysis of Small spoon

Ashleigh Jones 2000 (Cape Town)

It’s a selfless love
A helpless love
A love taken in spoonfuls

You like the small spoons
Because they savour the flavour
Make it last a bit longer
Make the feeling a bit stronger

I’d say I fell in love with you in teaspoons
Small amounts at a time,
And then all at once fully engorged

I love you in small spoons
The perfect amount, the perfect fit
Not too much, just a little bit at a time
But always more than enough
