Analysis of My sweet little Daughter
T.K.Jagannathan 1942 (TamilNadu)
My sweet little Daughter
My dear baby, as I recall those bygone days,
Blurring tear fills the corners of my old eyes.
How I wonder that time flies so fast,
Before you wink, events become the past.
Little angel as you were, toddling behind us,
Mumbling mama, papa, and many words.
Pressure of your pink fingers’ on my thumb,
Unforgettable pleasure, making me dumb.
Your youth and teens by no means dull
Bubbling so much with life, so full.
Thus with time you bloomed better and better
Proud father with a pretty maiden as a daughter.
Then from the northwest of north came a prince,
I had to give your hand, with no words to mince.
As the chicks fly off the nest when feathers grow,
Though imminent, your depart was indeed a big blow.
It is always true the present replaces the fast,
Your life at our nest, also proved as past.
Pleased now I am to see your own nest,
Happy as ever to wish you the very best.
Past is past and let me peep into the future
Ah! Grandpa, Grandma some whispers I hear.
Time and life roll over and over
May God bless you for ever and ever.

About this poem
Children are born. With lot of love and care we bring them up.Every moment of their life we enjoy. They grow up become adults and leave us for their own life. Sad is the way of nature. This short poem I wrote when I missed my daughter very much. KrishnaRao Jagannathan
