Analysis of Reach for the Sky

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Two by two the bikes go through
The riders in their colors
And God still seated on His throne
He gives His light to others

He sent His Son to give us life
So, we could truly live it
The One and Only light of men
So, we could be forgiven

How great the Christ child’s love for us?
He gave His life as ransom
Redeeming us from lives of sin
That ate us up like cancer

The sunshine gleaming off the chrome
They still go riding through
The gate’s been opened up for them
So, we could see it too
