Analysis of The fright

I find myself walking on a narrow road,
As I walk, I beg for a warm abode

I see homes baked in holy light as I walk
But suddenly I was afright....

When I realised something was not right....

For happy smiles and faces did I see.
But what was truly staring back at me

Dark lines filled with fear.
Did themselves, their presence leer.

For once my eyes were opened thus,
Did I see who was controlling us.

Dark figures cloaked in pain.
Who hope for the world to obtain.

Yet how silly of me not to see.
The figure who's dark puppet strings.....
were controlling me.

About this poem

To me personally, this poem is about mental health. We all have dark puppets controlling us behind our smiles. Some of them are better puppeteers than others. But at the end of the day we all hide the strings behind the 'holy' light. I wish we could cut the strings and just live, but alas here I am just writing a poem.
