Analysis of Glorify Your Name

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

You’ve given me everything I need
But I’m still not satisfied
You gave me your truth and righteousness
But my anger still abides
I try to place it here and there
But it’s really just with you
I hate the man that I’ve become
And I think that you should too

I hope that you will kill him
Let your Son live in his place
I only want what’s best you know
And that’s to see your face
O Lord Almighty Jesus Christ
And my Father who is in heaven
Come save me now and rescue me
From the place where I’ve been driven

I love to hear your voice my Lord
Don’t let my heart grow bitter
But fill me with your Spirit now
Don’t let me be a quitter
Let your fire burn inside of me
And your passion for the lost
That’s all I really want from life
No matter what the cost

If a man should try to save his life
I know that he will lose it
So, help me now to die in you
And I will not refuse it
