Analysis of Last Breath
Samarchitha Srinivasan 2007 (India)
He was happy with his life
And was blessed with a beautiful wife
Now he is Eighty
And is really happy
Playing with his grandchildren
In his heart, Regrets lost and forgotten
Had a cover of happiness around his regret-filled heart
He was ready to fulfill his part and depart
How long will he wear this cover
That is when I started to wonder
When indeed?
When will everything bleed?
I thought about it a lot
To be honest it was short
There is a phrase
A deadly message it conveys
Your last breath is unique
Your soul gets a life of its own and speaks
Shows you your dreadful moments and regrets
It's like watching your life on a cassette
Every bad memory buried inside
Will come out in the open, its wild
Then everything goes black
That is when you know you fell back
To the dark hellhole
Where there is no light, not even the size of a keyhole
Your soul will depart
And venture off to a new start
Here you are, soulless
Regretting your actions is pointless
What's done is done
Believe me, that is not fun
The grandfather died a painful death
Regretting everything he has done till his LAST BREATH
But this time something was different
"Oh god! I got a new life, This is brilliant!!!"
