Analysis of Wilderness

kohi 2001 (Mangaldan, Pangasinan)

Will vivid steps of preys
Witness huntress ahead—
Will the arrow released from a bow
Capture thy wildness

Roaming leopards
Roaring ahead—
Cute as cubs
Lethal as adults

Will blowing wind
Send you to my direction
Will it confuse me
Just like the concept of a maze

Smell of soil
Rustle of dried leaves
Koalas on trees
Galagos as bush babies

Will I get lost
Looking for you—
In the middle of the forest,
Passing by the wilds?

Will the cool whisper of wisps
Travel to my system,
Will it lead me to the solutions
Of your troubles?

Will the water flowing down the river
Remember our memories?
Will it really carry our worries
As my eyes quivers

Will you ever be the fire
That brings immense light
Amidst the dark forest—
Lighting up my way to the right path?
