Analysis of Illumination

Hear! A voice that cries at your gate on bent knees.
Look! At a tear that trickles for you in dire needs.
Spreading out my palms in fervent entreaty,
Pouring out my soul, insolvent anxiety;
Slide the clouds aside!
Clear the ice crystals that blurs a sight!
Look from on high as you trace,
A voice that cries for grace;
Though swallowed by echoes from the dark abyss of bitterness.
Console a soul sleepwalking on the lakebed of sadness.
Feel my fortunate, unfortunate,
Oh! Treat my needs importunate.

Cast down beside the crestfallen,
Aid my soul in grief sunken.
Groping for your light,
Condescend to feel my plight.
Stretch out a hand, would you!
Wipe a tear that trickles for you!

I bleed under this yoke
Nailed with pains that pokes
Dragged by an unprivileged birth,
To till a soil tougher than death.
I am so exhausted with nothing left,
Only this tear welling up in my eyelets
Which gradually breaks free with time,
Under a scorching desire to shine.

I scavenge in the dirt,
Searching every dark though dead.
At every lock I try,
At many 'nos' I cry;
Praying to be noticed by prominence.
Break this yoke, my Providence!
Lighten my burden
That my anguish may soften.

Dark is my world,
But your realm knows only day.
You are the dawn,
The dazzling dawn I crave.
Oh! Lower a star or two
To brighten my path,
As I grope my way, steeply, to the moon,
That to backslide I be immune.

My feet are sore from climbing
My hands are weak from striving;
Grant me a pair of wings like Raphael
I wish to fly like Azazel.

With your light, enlighten me;
Let me rise as flash as the ray of your light.
Lead me, Oh lord! Lead me!
Wedge me that I may fall back not when I rise.
When you sate my wants, what more could I ask!
When you dwell in me, only tears could I lack!

Many toils day and night but succeed,
You favour the favoured while they sleep.
Many prepares to compete,
The winner is yours to decide;
Oh! Let me find favour in your eyes.

For long have I stretched my arms,
In expectation do I cup my palms
Under the trickles of hope;
It's getting harder to cope.
Notice my labour, could you!
Rain your blessings, would you!

Come near from your height,
Appear to me in your light.
Glory! Oh, glory incarnate!
Nine night rites initiate.
Touch me with your presence
That I may be illuminated,
And great a glory may glow from even the rejected one.
