Analysis of It was I

It was I

Lying on my bed of sorrow and despair
I've been mourning over my broken goal
The things that make me go on were now gone
Broken, shattered, yes all gone.

As I walk through the pieces of my ruined dreams
I kept bleeding but I felt numb
I kept walking to explore my numbness
I felt nothing but woe

I wish to get out but I am trapped
I can't go on, I can't step out
This agony is hauling deeper
The roots of unfreedom is suffocating me

There it is again, the sound of breaking
Cries, screams, sniffles, and groans
Then there was the calming sound of the rain
Realization came smoothly as I stepped out and felt the raindrops wash me over

These miseries are not put into me
I was the one who trapped myself
I was the one who neglected my freedom
I was the one who kept hurting myself

Letting go of my fears, I looked back from where I was
Building myself the hopes for tomorrow
It is now time to smile, to hold on, to carry on
Looking forward to leave what's holding me before
