Analysis of Holy is the Lamb

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

A gentle word at the perfect time
Reminds me I’m forgiven
It helps me stand the test of time
And lets me go on living
If I had no one to count on
I know I’d be forgotten
But Jesus opened heaven’s doors
And that was how I got in

Now Christ is our foundation
And Jesus let us in
And while we’re still here on the earth
We all must build on Him

When each man’s work is tested
He’ll know gain or suffer loss
But either way we’ll live that day
Because of Jesus’ cross
How great the Father’s love for us?
He sent His Son to die
To take our place for all our sins
On Him we can rely

How much more shall we worship
If we have suffered loss
But find ourselves in heaven
Because of Jesus’ cross
His Spirit listened to me
And no lie there was found
Because I stood upon the Rock
The only solid ground
