Analysis of Spirit and Truth
Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)
You think you live by the letter
But I tell you the letter kills
You have to live by the Spirit
To rise above these hills
The slain Lamb is now coming
Whether you’re ready or not
When you see Him you’ll cry in your whiskey
Because you’re still stuck in this spot
He gave up His life that you might live
To show you His mercy and grace
But somehow you think you’re above Him
As you look down and spit in His face
Now the time of the judgment is upon you
Without words you’re left empty and void
The blood of the Lamb will not calm you
As by His great wrath you’re destroyed
