Analysis of God as Judge
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
What right have you to recite,
The covenant on your tongue;
The darkness shadows the light,
And unrighteousness be flung.
Because you hate discipline,
Casting those words behind you;
Immoral ways causing sin,
Lies eclipses what is true.
If you ever see a thief,
Maybe you are pleased with him;
Because of your misbelief,
For an adulterous whim.
You give your mouth a free rein,
For evil tongues of deceit;
Lips and tongue having profane,
Allows you to lie and cheat.
You speak against your brother,
Of the things that he has done;
Slandering of your mother,
Insults of her other son.
These are things that you have done,
And that I have kept silent;
So you think that it is fun,
Sporting to be violent.
But I rebuke and reprove,
Laying the charge before you;
Forgetting God will remove,
Your name, in bidding adieu.
Lest I will tear you apart,
There be none to deliver;
My hope you take it to heart,
Confess to the Forgiver.
The Lord offers thanksgiving,
His sacrifice glorifies;
Salvation keeps you living,
And His Spirit purifies.
The Lord orders the right way,
Showing you the salvation;
Guides you not to go astray,
Makes you a new creation.
