Analysis of Just One Kiss

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

I’m back at home so now I’ll rest
I went to work and did my best
While sitting in my kitchen chair
I take a drink and start to stare

Drifting to some far-off places
Where I see many familiar faces
I want to let go of all my ways
I’m trying to live just for today

But I find this is so hard to do
As I turn the page I think of you
I think of all our plans and dreams
I think of walking with you by the streams

The streams that lead to a river of love
That flows down to us from heaven above
I want to ask our Lord to please us
But as my thoughts turn back to Jesus

I remember how He had to stand alone
And take on our sins as though they’re His own
So how can I ask any more than this?
Lord, I’ll be satisfied, with just one kiss!
