Analysis of Please Save My Children
Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)
I miss my children and my grandchildren too.
I’ve made such a mess that there’s nothing to do!
I taught both my children to be just like me.
But of course, I did that before I was free.
My son’s turning slowly, but he seeks out your face.
He asks for my counsel and he looks for your grace!
But my daughter, O Lord, if she falls it’s my fault.
Take my life dear Father it’s you I’ll exalt!
Save my children Lord and my grandchildren too!
Teach them to be obedient to You!
