Analysis of Sunshine

Mike D Johnson 1954 (Tallahassee, Fl)

By Mike D Johnson

Sunshine makes me think of Summer skies engulfed in blue.
Sunshine brings to mind a bunch of flowers bathed in dew.
For me the sun keeps shining even when the day is through.
Because, you see, my Sunshine just happens to be you.
I may not always show that what I'm telling you is true.
And if I lost my Sunshine I don't know what I would do.
You smile and I see Sunshine peeking from behind your eyes.
In all the world there's no one who to your level could rise.
Sunshine's what I've named you and you've never let me down.
Thru good, thru bad, thru high and low, you've always been around.
So tell me now, my Sunshine, that it's here with me you'll stay.
Continue warming up my nights and brighten every day.
