Analysis of Vote for Jesus

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Fat Tuesday has a new meaning,
Since we held elections on it.
The rich keep getting richer.
And the poor just bet upon it.

They cast their vote for who they hope,
Will win, it doesn’t matter.
The poor keep getting poorer.
And the rich keep getting fatter!

God never said to me:
Hey Dawg, I’m seeking your opinion.
I can’t decide to whom
I should give this authority and dominion.

He never said to me:
Who do you think I should make president?
He only said: I’ll choose who I choose;
The rest may remain at the present!

So, who did you vote for this time?
And do you think they’re winning?
Only God determines the end result!
And He did that from the beginning!
