Analysis of Mi amor

Riya Singh 2002 (Jaunpur Uttar Pradesh)

I wish I could've told you before..
It was me,
who left those letters at your door..
I wish I could've told your before..
It was me you saw on the shore,
When you were leaving to fight for the war..
It was me who loved you then
probably a little bit more..
I wish I could've told you before..
It was me who saw you dancing on your own.. In a drunken haze, with a steady pace and the moon shining on our face..
I wish I could've told you before..
It was me who haunted the streets,
For your cure..
It was me who you looked for.. Before..
And now that I have lost all hope,
I wish I could've told you before..
When you knocked on my door,
Why did it take us too long to spoke
Mi  Amore?

About this poem

This poem is about the waiting and longing for a love that was never meant to be.. this poem is about a lost chance about a farewell never said about a love never expressed.
