Analysis of Betrayal
Daily grind life in control,
From outside our family seemed whole.
Then bliss was shattered,
my head no longer felt scattered
In life my words were truth
Didn’t matter who I spoke them too.
Adulthood had its trials,
I did that shit with a smile!
Damage done, my secret out
Young lives tainted, filled with doubt
Worst part during that time,
Those three now knew my crime!
Broken hearts, eyes filled with tears
Our good times lost, from those years
As they cried, my world went black
I promised then, I’d get back on track
One son asked, “Are we not enough?”
Hearing that was so vastly tough.
I looked each one in the eyes
Made my promise, no more lies!
I fought the battle, won the war
Repairing wounds darkening their core.
Forgiveness, hard work, and truth
Wishing now I’d protected their youth
Please forgive me, know my heart
Let my actions play the part.
Through those years, and the trials
All I wanted was to see them smile.
Twelve years now, clean and sober
Those terrible days done and over
