Analysis of Uvalde

John Kassel 1947 (Phoenixville, PA)

Uvalde,
They say they feel your pain,
But they cannot feel your pain.
No one can.

I feel pain because you feel pain,
But I cannot feel your pain.

I am angry because you are angry,
But I cannot feel your anger.

I feel rage because you feel rage,
But I cannot feel your rage.

I grieve because you grieve,
But I cannot feel your grief.

No one can feel your
Pain, anger, rage, or grief
If they were not there.

I can only imagine what you must feel,
And that image
Haunts my thoughts and dreams.
