Analysis of Stay Here Awhile

Stay Here Awhile

Being alone can be terrifying
The razor of the insensitive brute
Cuts into my face as
The frigid wind
I am told I’m weak
Even judged
When I want company
But being human I wish
You will share your precious time
And stay here awhile.

Feeling isolated can stir fear
Where comfort and trust exists
The ego driven tyrant
Damages via control
Giving insults
Instead of respect
Unable to care
They cloak insecurity
Cracking the whip
On open hearts.

Spending kindness costs nothing
When dignity is abundant
Everyone wins
There are no losers
For sharing is caring
Here we are my friend
Knowing time is short
The precious
Make the most of now
And stay here awhile.

About this poem

Loneliness can be hard even painful . It can also move us to share and care. That alone can take away the isolation and bring us closer.
