Analysis of Color Me Alive

Charles Edward York 1966 (Saigon, Vietnam)

Color Me Alive

Color me alive in the colors
Of falling water and a cool breeze
Fill me with fresh air and soft petals
Birds singing and endless blue sky
Lift my emotions on wings
Send my thoughts soaring
Liberate me from despair
So I may breathe again
With joy and a smile!

Fly my flag loose on the wind
My self same soul aloft
Against the heavens
Where spirits are free to sail
Separate the waters
So I may walk on through
With peace in every step
Brush the obstacles away
And let me live in power!

Color me alive in a blue wave
Surge my body and mind
With energy and strength
Brighten my star
With silver shining grace
To inspire myself and others
The race is before me
Destiny and greatness awaits
The bold and the brave!
