Analysis of WAVES OF WATER AND FLAMES

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

These eyes of mine are tired, yet they are full of hunger for something that will feed my mind in the end. Beauty doesn't have to die. Some just let it fade away without ever embracing its days. How much longer must I wait for this fire that's hiding within to burn as I slowly yearn for the peace of the flames that water can not put out?

My eyes have spoken of many truths and lies and those things that I should have had the knowledge to hide but it kept afloat along the riverside. There is a flame to the water and water to love. There was a time that I was fire and there was a time that I was the rain.

Where do I walk now, being that I have been running all my life without getting anywhere and only receiving people's pointed fingers and disheartening stares? Now I am mindful of the steps I walk and the sounds I make when I talk, and I no longer care.

The waves of water and flames have set me free, and the fire, which still burns, is becoming the answer to the questions that I have been learning to see
