Analysis of Vows where cows and crows both give milk
On sun filled days
and cloudy times
In thunder storms
and starry nights
By rolling seas
and riversides
On winding paths
and mountain heights
As roosters crow
and songbirds fly
When howlings call
and babies cry
Where cricket chirps
and sunset lights
Make bullfrogs croon
as waters glide
Where spiders weave
and fruits grow ripe
As heat waves rise
and rain falls light
Where fences end
and moonlight shines
In dance filled halls
and open fields
Where horses run
and cows give milk
Where rocks grow large
and time stands still
Where silence dwells
and people pray
Where baseballs fly
and children play
On grassy slopes
and open roads
On snow white ground
and and shining floors
Where danger looms
and hope is born
When sadness lifts
and wisdom calls
Where water falls
and trees rise up
As tears dry up
and dreams come true
As comets burn
and earthquakes brew
As morning doves
sing in the dew
Our love’s reborn
and always new
On sun filled days
and cloudy times
In thunder storms
and starry nights
By rolling seas
and riversides
On winding paths
and mountain heights
As roosters crow
and songbirds fly
When howlings call
and babies cry
Where cricket chirps
and sunset lights
Make bullfrogs croon
as waters glide
Where spiders weave
and fruits grow ripe
As heat waves rise
and rain falls light
Where fences end
and moonlight shines
In dance filled halls

Where horses run

Where rocks grow large

Where silence dwells

Where baseballs fly

Where danger looms

About this poem
This VOW was written by me and recited by wife and I on our 25th wedding anniversary, in a Redwood forest with sacred fools befriending us long after we were told as teens that our marriage could never last. My wife misspoke the line "cows give milk' by cracking up our friends with "crows give milk." Do they? She must think so. But she's always been a dreamer, like me. That's why our marriage has lasted with lots of laughs.
