Analysis of Who are we
Dontasia marrs 1987 (United States)
are we dirty
are we unworthy
who are we?
Are we to be tortured in plain sight
are to be killed in the darkness of night
who are we?
Are we drug dealers and thieves
are we ugly uneducated fiends
who are we?
Will we feed into these stereotypes
will we be shoved into these roles or join the fights
will we be queens and kings
will we stand strong in our faith as we sing
who are we?
Are we strong black women and men
are we unimportant Negros waiting to be slain
who are you?
