Analysis of Blood & Love

Love is not so sweet & innocent
Or it would wane & die
The only love that works that way
Is the simple love of a child
True love, it’s chaotic & messy
It’s deep, it’s dark & sometimes cold
Undoubtedly it remains a part of you until
You grow grey & old

It stays with you forever
Deep down in the marrow of your bones
You see me & I may appear to be living
But I’m simply existing
I’m breathing, surviving on thin air
I feel without oxygen
My heart beats
but it’s off again
If it beats it’s only moving blood
It was meant to pump blood
But beat for love

Any wound that he may have bore out
Where my heart & soul were torn out
No these wounds they’ve not left me dead
They still bleed a blood that was his

It stays with you forever
Deep down in the marrow of your bones
You see me & I may appear to be living
But I’m simply existing
I’m breathing, surviving on thin air
I feel without oxygen
My heart beats
but it’s off again
If it beats it’s only moving blood
It was meant to pump blood
But beat for love

Now… I may look used up
All tattered & bruised up
Without him here to hold me in one piece
I’m simply pulling apart at the seams
There has to be new life left inside me yet
His soul, it has not gone from me
We were not something able to forget
I’ve a piece of his heart here, left inside of my chest

It stays with you forever
Deep down in the marrow of your bones
You see me & I may appear to be living
But I’m simply existing
I’m breathing, surviving on thin air
I feel without oxygen
My heart beats
but it’s off again
If it beats it’s only moving blood
It was meant to pump blood
But beat for love

Past the existence of this world we live on
In the realm where we’ll someday dwell
Whether I go to heaven,
or find myself in hell
There’s one thing that will always remain my truth & will anchor this tortured soul.
It’s the part of me that was once empty, that his love had made whole.

You see it stays with you forever
Deep down in the marrow of your bones
You see me & I may appear to be living
But I’m simply existing
I’m breathing, surviving on thin air
I feel without oxygen
My heart beats
but it’s off again
If it beats it’s only moving blood
It was meant to pump blood
But beat for love

It was meant to beat for you, my love
