Analysis of About Elders
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Be meek under the hand of God,
So in time, He may exalt you;
Be humble as you praise to laud,
In your worshipping you pursue.
Cast your anxieties upon Christ,
For He really cares about you;
The reason He was sacrificed,
As the Gospel is telling true.
Be sober-minded and vigilant,
The devil prowls like a lion;
For snaring a holy servant,
Before entering in Zion.
Satan seeking to devour,
Who would be walking down his path;
Attacking at the right hour,
While losing in a bloodbath.
Firm your faith as you resist him,
Knowing of the same suffering;
That Jesus had been feeling grim,
But the Father was buffering.
After you suffered for some time,
God will restore you with His grace;
Christ picks you up and helps you climb,
Comforting as He will embrace.
To Him always be dominion,
His glory lasting forever;
Having an eternal union,
That is unable to sever.
