Analysis of What would we look like if there were no mirrors.

Jared Williams 1978 (Florida)

What would we look like if there were no mirrors, no reflection to cast it’s vote. How would the world speak to us and continue to unveil its cloak?

In a realm devoid of mirrors' gaze,
Where reflections cease to have a say,
How would our visage truly be,
If no reflective surface we could see?

No longer would the world's eyes meet,
To judge our worth, to cast their heat,
No vanity's grip, no self-doubt's sting,
Just the essence of our being, unswayed by a thing.

Would the world then speak in whispers soft,
Unveiling secrets, aloft and aloft,
Through nature's whispers, a gentle breeze,
Revealing truths, as the world seeks to appease.

The sun, a mirror in the sky,
Reflecting warmth, as it passes by,
The moon, a mirror in the night,
Illuminating beauty, in its silver light.

The mountains, proud and towering high,
Reflecting strength against the sky,
The rivers, mirrors of flowing grace,
Reflecting life's journey, at its own pace.

No longer confined to glass and steel,
Our true selves, no longer concealed,
For the world would speak, in nature's tongue,

Unveiling its cloak, as we all become one.

No mirrors to distort, no judgments to bear,
Just the raw beauty, we all share,
In this mirrorless world, we'd finally see,
The reflection of our souls, wild and free.

About this poem

Life unfolds as we see ourselves. I started this poem many years ago allowing it to flow a natures course. My heart is filled knowing it’s complete.
