Analysis of Desert Curse

Desert Curse
sandstorms scrape sun from sky
bristle through stubborn sage
take revenge with searing fry
inflict on daily stage

surely God forsook this realm
ignoring its parched and thirsty state
immune to His children’s whelm
what justifies this heavenly hate

what happened to cause such ire
to subject the land this dreadful curse
to ignite it with unrelenting fire
turning Eden into flaming hearse

did we natives reject God’s decrees
did we question a too proud almighty
was it full rebellion or only slight degrees
perhaps, we preferred an Aphrodite

what could justify such living hell
how could a Divine wreak such rage
has He ignored every anguished yell
what kind of sin deserves this wage
