Analysis of An Enduring Hope
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Blessed be the God and Father,
Who is our Lord Jesus Christ;
And is also our Brother,
Sacrificially paid was priced.
Granting such great mercy and grace,
He caused us to be born again;
To a living hope that we face,
His resurrection that has been.
An inheritance in Heaven,
Unfaded and undefiled;
Reserved that it will be given,
Being His adopted child.
Of the power of our God,
A guarded faith for salvation;
To those who do honor and laud,
Becoming His new creation.
So wherein you greatly rejoice,
Though now for a little while;
Temptations try to make a choice,
Grieving through another trial.
For your faith is being tested,
More precious than gold in fire;
If perishes when divested,
Caused by a hidden desire.
Maybe found in praise and honor,
For Christ in a revelation;
Transforms you into a fawner,
Rewarding you with salvation.
Even though you may not have seen,
You love Him because you believe;
For in faith in all that has been,
Such joy in glory you receive.
Your faith will receive in the end,
The salvation found for your soul;
The Holy Spirit does defend,
Will comfort you and will console.
