Analysis of Pass Forward
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Join in by imitating me,
Let’s be followers together,
Keep your eyes on what you should see,
Encourage others to gather.
Those who walk as an example,
In the footsteps of Christ as thus;
As was written in the Gospel,
Who had been sacrificed for us.
I often told you as I wept,
Walk as enemies of the cross;
But I did manage to accept,
Our Savior came from the loss.
Their end is causing destruction,
Having their glory in their shame;
Earthly enticed to seduction,
From desires that will enflame.
But our home is in Heaven,
And we await for a Savior;
For salvation has been given,
Who has looked on us with favor.
Our lowly body transformed,
And given a glorious one;
Christ saw us as being reformed,
In knowing all that we have done.
A body no more defiled,
All past events have been subdued;
To the Father as His child,
With a heavenly attitude.
