Analysis of Christian Warior
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Put on the whole armor of God,
That you are able to withstand;
Standing firm to honor and laud,
Adhering unto His command.
Having fasting the belt of truth,
And the breastplate of righteousness;
Gird up what you learned as a youth,
Guarding your loins of faithfulness.
Wear shoes for your preparation,
Ready for the Gospel of peace;
A symbol of declaration,
When the hostilities will cease.
The shield of faith, take and hold tight,
The evil one has flaming darts;
When you see them within your sight,
Since he is aiming toward your hearts.
Wear the helmet of salvation,
As you think of God and His Word;
His Spirit gives affirmation,
While holding the two-edged sword.
