Analysis of The fallen star

The falling star

I've been chasing that fallen star,
Since I knew the elusive aftertaste of my mocking dreams
I've known breath by its heavy weight
And resurrection in its sweet taste of freedom
It has liberated my loneliness
Evoked pure will into my floating soul
Yet its radiance enslaves me so dearly I silently scream
By this pain I possess salvation
Yet by this pain I tempt my impending sacrifice
I've constructed worlds by the sway of my fingertips
Construed my infinite possibilities,
Intertwined them in my destiny
Mystified and dignified
And yet, I cannot resist the allure of my damnation

I have sacrificed flesh
Given the goddess of time,
all of mine
And it has stolen more
Offered remnants of my scarred heart
All for fuel
Fuel for my impossible dream
The wind daringly degrades me
The stars seductive scent wraps its potency around my fragile neck
Reminding me of this human weakness
To want,
Until I am nothing but that
Until I have unearthed the ripeness of this extended misery

My blood, my sweat, my tears
My external sacrifice
For my internal greed
This fallen star that entrances me with its dangerously mesmerising dance
This fallen star that wistfully sings songs of pure ache
Earnestly soothing these self inflicted wounds blissfully marrying my innocence
And yet it sweetly pains me

I dream of visions
Found in my unconscious desires
Heard in restless breaths
Trapped in my erratic thinking
This fallen star, it wickedly deceives
It empowers me until I mistake this wretched flesh as divinity                                                         I personify, devour this cloy ignorance
still, in the dawn of my reality the star blinds me
shines light on my humanity and I am wrongfully enlightened
These eyes of saccharine rose gold,
 Forced so brightly open
This blaze, it sardonically wounds me
And blinds my aspirations
And so I desiccate this unwanted awareness
Blindly catching this fallen star through the cracks of my fissures

My tenacious grip opens my clumsy wounds
My weakness warm and yet this resilient want burns
I search beyond it all
But still all I see is hesitance
All I taste is cowardice
And all I feel is reluctance
It sculpts my failure
And chains me
Like a dog to its master,
I am bound
Adorned with these girl made ropes
Yet alive
With an unmistakable pulse and a strengthening force
Do you feel this fire?,
That oozes through my ticking veins
Do you see this ire?
That resides in my passion
Do you understand the potency of my dreams?
One day I shall acquire
It tells me to stand, run through the forests of my fears
Leave no stone unturned
Until the fallen star
Is no longer fallen
Until the falling star has risen

About this poem

I wanted to write a poem about dreams and how devastating yet beautiful they are. Dreams can inspire but they can also wreak havoc as you apply pressure on yourself to achieve said dreams. The poem is about falling in love and experiencing heartbreak with a fallen star(your dreams).
