Analysis of Trying

I’m trying for a better life
I was never told when I was young that it would be this hard
I’m still trying to cover all my scars
I face challenges day by day
The only constant person with me is the one I see when I look in the mirror every day
I’m trying
Lord knows I’m trying but the devil keeps coming for me
He just won’t let me be
I keep telling the devil to let me be but man he just keeps coming for me
I’m trying to keep believing in you God but these scars just hurt so bad
I’m in pain and I want to be happy but I’m always sad
My life has never been easy
I’ve never had anything just given to me
I’m trying
Lord knows I’m trying
All of these things have taken a toll on me but I’ll keep holding on even though nothing is clear to me
Keep reaching and wrapping your arms around me because I’m trying
I’m trying because God you won’t allow me to be defeated
I’ll keep looking for you and wish for better days than the ones I’m use to
