Analysis of Dear Pacific

Dear Pacific, my pacifier
Vast aqua engulfing taunting great whites,
Encompassing my blues, a perplexing shade to you.
Regardless, your waves enclose them all.

Your body of water fondly seeps into
Dark caverns of my soul.
Yet I have yet to grasp your oceanic entirety,
Yet to peer past the horizon,
So tell me, is it the same
Noble stretch of navy blue beyond?

Through churning torrents, through tides and turns,
How does one possess such sublime patience
Enough to weather my storms?
They have been unconquerable, that is, before you.
So a leap of faith I dive and melt into your open sea,
As delicate foam nestled on cradling currents.

You breathe calmness into my calamity,
Now my words wreathe not elegies but sweet ballads.
And you have raised me above fearful indigos,
So for once I believe myself when I say, I won’t go.
