Analysis of Zion Remembered
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Sing for joy, O Heaven,
Break forth and exult earth;
Joy mountains have given,
The resources of worth.
Mountains with joyful shouts,
For the Lord does comfort;
God’s people have no doubts,
As He speaks His effort.
For God has compassion,
Those who are afflicted;
To confess in fashion,
When sin has addicted.
The Lord has forsaken,
For He has forgotten;
I have not awaken,
Since sin made me rotten.
Women think of a child,
No pity of her womb;
If they are defiled,
No remorse in their tomb.
Even they may forget,
But the Lord forgets not;
If confessed cancels debt,
For salvation, they sought.
In His hands, He engraved,
Before Him are your wall;
When no longer enslaved,
That has caused you to fall.
Your builders will make haste,
Those who destroy will leave;
You no longer laid waste,
Since your foes do not cleave.
Lift up your eyes to see,
Those who come and gather;
For the Lord will declare,
All worship together.
