Analysis of A Strong Tower
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
A strong tower is the Lord,
And safe for the righteous man;
When running into His Word,
In His name secures His plan.
A rich man may have much wealth,
And held in a strong city;
His conceit gives him ill health,
The poor He does not pity.
The man’s heart will be haughty,
That will be his destruction;
And immorally naughty,
Brings him humiliation.
If one does before he hears,
It is his folly and shame;
For his answer that one fears,
When says in vain the Lord’s name.
A man’s spirit copes when sick,
But crushed spirits who can bear;
Relief from illness comes quick,
With penance with God to share.
Intelligent hearts get wisdom,
Knowledge entering the ear;
About God and His Kingdom,
When you worship and revere.
