Analysis of They Say

I'm in love
And  "they say" he's no good.
I want him
And "they say" I can do better.
Who are they,
To say this to me?
It's my life
I live it for me!
I say I need him,
"They say" he'll never be true.
I say I enjoy him,
"They say" he'll make me a fool.
I say he makes me happy
"They say" in time, he will make me blue.
I say you make me smile,
"They say" he'll make me frown too.
They put him down,
And it makes me mad,
"They say" don't keep him around,
Because he will drag me down.
I don't like or believe
What "They say".
They don't even know him,
So no reason to judge him that way.
They can shut their mouths
And stay away.
I don't want to hear,
What they have to say.
