Analysis of A Writer’s Wish
I want to write.
Release the chains
of harbored feelings,
which at times
upon my peace intrude
like an uninvited guest.
To drench pages
with new-found tears,
then lay them out to dry
till the ink begins to fade.
Without verse or rhyme
make heard the sounds
of my tone, my voice,
releasing bitterness of past
to penetrate each page.
I want to write
of worries and fears
with unrestrained passion
and vibrant colors.
Love will glow like a star
and pain’s stormy cloud,
in time will whisk away
into nothingness.
Of struggles and smiles
and wishes pending,
I want to write.

About this poem
Many years ago. I attended a writer’s workshop because my writing was constrained by forcing rhymes. I wanted to just express thoughts in free verse. This was my first attempt.
