Analysis of It's Time

It’s Time For Me To Take My Love Back From Those Who Hurt Me,
From Those Who Never Understand How To Treat Me When I Care So Deeply For Them.
It’s Time For Me To Take Those Pieces,
The Pieces Of My Heart & Hope From The Hands Of Those Who Don’t deserve To Hold Them Any Longer.
It Is Time For Me To Believe & Know That I Am Worth Being Happy
That I Am Worthy Of Getting Myself Together,
Day By Day, Fragment By Fragment.

It Is Time For For Me To Understand That I Don’t Have Any say In If Someone Stays Or Not
I Never Have Any Say In If Someone Loves Me
There’s Nothing I Can Do To Stop Them From Walking Away
Whether I Silence The Thud Of My Heart Against My Ribcage,
Whether I Speak In A Softer Tone Or Silence My Hope,
I’ll Never Have Any Say In How Long They Stay Or If They’ll Appreciate Me.
Or If They’ll Try.

However, I Do Have A Say In How I Rise;
In How I Pick Myself Up From The Debris Of It All.
I Do Have Control Over How I Grow,
How I Build Myself Back Up Again.

So I’ll Take It Slowly.
Then I’m Going To Calmly Take Back My Quiet
The Thoughts I Have When I Am Asleep,
The Conversation I Share With The Stars.
I’m Going To Take Back My Beauty,
The Confidence That Was Once Built On The Bedrock Of People’s Approval.
I’m Going To Take Back My Heart,
No Matter How Battered And Bruised It Is,
No Matter How Much It Hurts.

I Know I Will Bloom Again.
I Know I Will Flourish.
Because I Deserve To Be Here, No Matter How Bad My Past Was.
Now It’s My Turn.
