Analysis of Island haunted by old tales of the sordid

Boat brought two men
Previous shift
Had tuckered out.
And too many nightmares
Evoked by howling Ocean.

Old guy with pipe
Much experience.
Young Buck, the muscle
For endless aching
Joe Jobs
Up and down the Lighthouse.

It's moaning questions
To the invisible.
It's wandering beam
Reflected from the huge
Mirror over 150 years
Present and warning many.

And gulls laughed
As scraps got
Chucked out.
Discovered and dropped
Horrid sea creatures
Not anywhere cataloged.

Routine dragged on
Eyes lined with stain.
Body odours relentless.
After eight weeks
The female songs
Of lust and allurement
Entered a macabre opera.

Two men tormented
Ready for shouting
Silly argument
Sullen retreats into
Dark void.
Fist fighting.
Murder...
