Analysis of The Human Pen

The Human Pen

The human pen is super-powered
When inspired by God and the Universe
Verses unseen and unheard
Flow as if born to come alive
From darkness into light
Flooding the world with meaning
Expressing rhymes
Metaphors and alliteration
Painting a sound scape
Beyond recognition
Enlivening the soul.

Eyes and ears open wide wonders
Rippling through mere words
As if hidden things disrobe
Sentiments kept away
Touch the hardest heart
Spreading smiles
Erupting in laughter
Shedding tears
All finding acceptance
Written and spoken
In script or in silence.

The poet peels away the truth
Guided by a force outside themselves
Filtered through an imperfect life
A world filled with daily letdowns
Tragedies great and small
Occurring without reason
The scribe survives as beauty
Through words who bear witness
Revealing the original innocence
All around us to inspire
The inner fire to light the world.
