Analysis of It's Hard

It's hard to find a smile from within,
Pretending ignorance to the world around.
Counting down the seconds, minutes, then the hours,
Waiting for reality to stop, but it never ends.

It's hard to wake up like this all alone,
Fooling myself that you're right here beside me.
Tears streaming down my face,I open my eyes and you're really gone.
I wasn't prepared for how being without you would be.

It's hard to move on,while clinging to the past.
But I know without you, I lost me.
Without you, I lost my identity.

It's hard to say hate you,
For what you've done to me, it was wrong.
You left with no sign, not one little clue.
When you left you never looked back,
Leaving me with nothing but a memory.

It's hard to think of you,
And not feel so sad.
Thinking brought you here, staring down at me,
Shaking with emotion, saying you left the best thing you've ever had.

It's hard not to hurt you just the same,
For who was the one to really blame?
It's hard to let you close again,
But seeing you here and now,
I have to keep you as close as I can.
It's hard to live again without you,
I hope you love as much as I do.
