Analysis of Comes a Little Baby

Comes a little baby:
beautiful and sweet.
Needs so much love,
keeps you on your feet.

Come sleepless nights:
tiring, draining.
Can't ever catch up,
inside it starts raining.

Come the storms:
howling and raging.
Keep it all inside,
have to keep pacing.

Comes the cavalry:
charging, well-meaning.
Keep them all at bay,
must start weaning.

Come the long hard nights:
shushing, patting.
Pray to the sleep gods
that she'll start napping.

Comes the happy toddler:
so smart, so healthy.
Still needs all of Mama,
success is too stealthy.

Comes a shining day:
joyous, long-sought-for.
A happy little girl,
and long-delayed slumber.
