Analysis of Compassion

The day seemed so beautiful,
Like many before it.
Yet some knew what we did not,
That soon would fall a great tragedy.
In the mid-morning hours of eight and nine,
Our lives changed forever,
And will never be the same.

Before anyone knew what was happening,
The building had been hit.
People came running,
Screaming and crying.
While others I’m sure knew their fate,
And stayed inside to live their last moments.

A second one hit,
What could we do?
Many firefighters and police risking their lives,
Went in the building to get others out.
As the buildings collapsed,
There was a loud rumble.
No one knew what to do but stare in awe.

Right away brave men and women from all over the country,
Left their homes to help in the search.
The search to find life.
To find the ones who lived.
How brave they must be,
Knowing what they will find.
Some will be dead,
Others alive.
Both ways someone cares and needs to know.

Some travel to Washington,
Where they will look.
Others go to New York City,
To see what they can find.

In this time of tragedy and need,
We’ve pulled together.
Why did it have to take so many lives,
To show others we care?
Many were lost,
And many will be found.
In hopes that it will never take the loss of life,
To show we are a nation who will fight for each other.

The one thing I know
That everyone knows.
Is that we will never forget the morning of September Eleventh Two thousand and One.
