Analysis of Empty Temple

Angelic face still wrapped in the veil.
Tiny hands lie silently still.
What a beautiful temple I’m holding tonight.
Such a beautiful temple without any light.
I would gladly give you the light in my eye.
If I could say hello before saying goodbye.

But I know you’ll be safe each night you’re away.
I know you’ll grow strong each day as you play.
Sweet child, please know that your family cares.
So listen for “love you’s” in each of our prayers.
And send “love you too’s” each day you’re away.
Please tell me you love me each night when I pray.

And, Father, please hold him and tuck him in tight.
And read to him stories and kiss him goodnight.
Spoil this child ‘cause he’s one of you own.
And care for him gently ‘til his family comes home.

You know I’d have taught him each day as he grew.
I’d have taught him 'bout Jesus and all about you.
Each night I pray humbly down on one knee.
Please, Heavenly Father, teach him about me.
